The Content Gap

March 25th, 2007 Posted in Burning Crusade

One criticism that I just don’t understand seems to be at the forefront of the Burning Crusade, and that’s that once you leave the new starting areas, you’re shy of new content to play with until level 58 or so. That’s nonsense, if you ask me.

For the first part, there’s no way that most players have seen half the content that they missed when levelling the first time. There’s just so damn much of it. For the second, new content has been added – look at Ashenvale and the Hinterlands for two areas which have been beefed up with new content as part of the process of rolling out the expansion.

The people who are complaining about this the most, of course, are those who have levelled half a dozen of more characters and are fed up of the same zones time and again. There will never be a way of  pleasing them – just the main body of players. And no-one should have to try to.

For the rest of us, there’s just enough new content to keep the old stuff that we missed on our way between other bits fresh.
