Gruul says: Die! (And we did)
September 5th, 2007 Posted in Bosses, Burning CrusadeSo a return to Gruul’s lair before the reset. And how did it go? Well, our attempts were much better than our first go – 18% – but still short of the mark.
Gruul’s an interesting character, but the thing that really got us was spacing and shatter. Too many people running in too many directions, and too many people bunched together causing problems with cave-in and ground slam. There’s an element of gearchecking going on there, too. Without enough DPS, especially at the start before people start to die, it’s hard to kill him before the tank is getting splatted in one shot. Also at the start, though, his hitbox is small enough that melee dps have to continually dance out of the way of cave-ins.
Anyway, thanks to WoW Web Stats we have lots of feedback to bear in mind for the next time we take a punt at him. And there’s certainly a few things I’ll be changing…
