Back to the Future

My lasting impression ohf Mount Hyjal is one of general suckiness. This is probably coloured by the last two raids I’ve attended where for two evenings we’ve beaten our heads against the brick wall of Azgalor. It’s not as if he’s new to us either – he’s been downed four times already, so it shouldn’t be overly difficult to get him again (incidentally ten out of twelve tier 6 drops from him have been [item]Gloves of the Forgotten Vanquisher[/item]).

And this is the problem. It’s easy to analyse what went wrong on each attempt, and make adjustments, but the requirement to get through eight waves – 20 minutes – of trash before hitting the boss again is just obscene. For this reason alone Mount Hyjal is fast becoming my least favourite instance of all time. I started the last raid in a relaxed frame of mind, and by the end I was fuming. Just one person making a mistake in any attempt could lead to a wipe, and to be fair I don’t think anyone was consistently going wrong.

We start again with a fresh instance tonight. At the very least I’ll get another chance at [item]Kaz’rogal’s Hardened Heart[/item] before we get to the hateful part. I’d like to get back to wiping on Archimonde, please. As really, really difficult boss fights go, his is a pleasure to learn thanks to the lack of trash.
